Sounds of Summer is a celebration of music making by all of the major Junior School music ensembles. This year, as well as a diverse array of music from Junior Strings, Junior Band, Junior Choir, Cellos, Jazz Band, Flutes, String Quartet and more, the audience will also be treated to a performance by the winner of the KS2 Young Musician of the Year Competition. 

If music by Beethoven, and movie music from The Incredibles, Jurassic Park and Ghostbusters wasn’t enough to get you rushing for tickets, this year we are also joined by Australian composer Paul Jarman, who will be conducting one of his own pieces, Better World, with the Junior School Orchestra and Singers.

The Founder’s Day is a celebration of who we are as a community and everything we value as a school. It is DCB’s biggest community event of the year. The day highlights our diversity and includes performances and mini-events that showcase the four pillars(Academic, Sports, performing arts, and community service). Here are the highlights of the day:

  • 30+ Family Friendly Activities (run by teachers and students)
  • 15 International Food Stalls from over 25 countries and regions (run by DCB parents)
  • 6-hour long Music Programme on the Main Stage (hundreds of students involved)
  • Annual Rugby and Netball games with Harrow

Dulwich College Beijing will be presenting their Junior Musical, Singin’ in the Rain, on the 6th and 7th of June in the Wodehouse Theatre.

With a cast of 36 students from Year 3 to Year 6, a live band, ambitious set and umbrellas and rain a-plenty, this is one night at the theatre you will not want to miss!

The show tells the story of Don Lockwood, a popular silent film star, who meets the love of his life Kathy Selden and helps boost her own acting career – but does it all work out for Don and Kathy in the end, or will Don’s former beau, the mega-famous Lina Lamon,t wreck their chances of happiness?
