On the open days next week school will provide tea and coffee for parent and squash for children and we would ask that you donate cakes or cookies for this fund raising stall. Please could Year 3 and Year 5 donate baked items (of any kind not just doughnuts and muffins) on Wednesday and Year 4 and Year 6 donate baked items on Thursday. You will then get the opportunity to sit and enjoy a drink and a home baked item with your child in school in exchange for a donation of money. (Please label your container clearly if you would like it returned)

Teachers, students, and parents are invited to a livestream of a performance of the 'The Tempest', Shakespeare's story of the betrayal of Prospero, the bookish Duke of Milan who uses magic to try to reclaim what is his from his brother, Antonio. 

As part of DCB's new partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company, DCB proudly presents the livestream performance of this imaginative and enchanting tale. Only available at the Wodehouse Theatre on March 30.

Julia Cook has become one of the world's most recognised authors of guidance storybooks for children, parents and teachers. In her workshops and keynotes, Julia draws upon her rich experience as a practicing school counsellor, and her presentations in hundreds of schools across the country and world. This workshop is designed to support our EYFS/JS parents in a number of topics/areas. There will also be an opportunity to purchase her books on the day.

Lance King Parent Workshop: The Importance of Failing Well

Lance King, an internationally renowned author, educator, and workshop facilitator who has worked on the development of the MYP, IBDP, and IBCP programmes, is coming to China for the launch of the Chinese version of his book "The Art of Learning - The Importance of Failing Well". In conjunction to the book launch, he has offered to run free parents' seminars in bilingual setting, both to international and Chinese communities. We are very excited to host one of Mr King's parents' workshops, and it will be his second visit to DCB. 

During this parent seminar, Mr King will be delivering some practical advice on how can parents support their children so that they can see challenges as opportunity and setbacks as springboards to success. He will also talk about 21st Century Skills, specifically targeting to how parents can support their children with 'study skills'.  

The Chinese version of his book will be available for sale after the seminar and you will have the chance to have your book personally signed by Mr King.
