Our founder Edward Alleyn was a renowned actor in the Elizabethan theatre, and was the first to play many of the great roles created by Shakespeare and Marlowe. On his death, his will led to the foundation of Dulwich College in 1619. His dedication to the performing arts is reflected in the education and opportunities our students receive today.
Dulwich students are encouraged to explore their creative talents. The arts provide them an opportunity to gain insight into different cultures across time periods. Encouraging students to engage in the performing arts not only improves their performance skills but also builds confidence and develops a spirit of fun.
