From Headmaster

Dear Parents,

I am currently in Suzhou with the Dulwich College International Headmasters and the Executive Committee. We have talked through various current educational topics and issues, and have discussed how we can best transform the international group's vision into reality. It has been a privilege to represent DCB at this event and I shall bring back ideas from these discussions to our own College Leadership Team in Beijing.

The role of Headmaster is never dull and this week is no exception. The photo below is from an Early Years assembly on Monday where I talked about sustainability and appeared as 'Captain Recycling'. This was obviously a proud moment for me and allowed me to wear a fetching green cape and mask. The children were on good form and contributed their thoughts eloquently on how to save paper and water, and the importance of recycling plastics.

Last Saturday, Helen and I attended the British Embassy Open Day. I greeted the Ambassador, Dame Barbara Woodward, when she visited the Dulwich booth. The booth itself was organised superbly by our AMC department, with quizzes and a raffle, along with incisive information on DCB. It proved to be very popular, and I would like to thank the Year 12 students who helped on the day: Bonnie Hao, Yi Wen Lee, Emily Li, Shaun Yeo, Natalie Luo and Lin Yin Tan. Thanks also to Mr and Mrs Pankratz for coming along and supporting our students.

Kind regards and have a good weekend,

Simon Herbert
